TBN Scholarship Fund 2023

The TBN Scholarship Fund (TBNSF), which was established in 2021, was founded on the belief that education is the birthright for all, and any individual that wishes to pursue a higher education should have the opportunity to do so.

By removing some of the financial burdens associated with going to, surviving in, and graduating from college, the TBNSF plays a vital role in increasing college access and success for many motivated youth. The TBNSF provides individual grants, paid directly either to the educational institution or recipient. The grant can be used to cover tuition expenses and related supplemental educational expenses such as books, lab fees, travel and select costs of living.

Our TBN Scholarship Fund 2023 application period opens February 1, 2023 and closes on March 1, 2023 (at 11:59 PM PST). All application materials must be received by the deadline.

Three scholars will be selected to receive a $2,500 scholarship each. Winners will be announced May 2023. Apply now!

2021 TBNSF WINNERS

  • CREE DICKERSON

    Fisk University

What advice do you have for high school students who plan on applying for scholarships?

“Put real effort into the project and ensure that it really represents something you're passionate about. Have family and friends review it and take suggestions, so you have more than one pair of eyes on it to increase your chances. Don't be afraid to take constructive criticism because it can really make the final product stand out. And lastly, give yourself enough time to make something uniquely you! Don't procrastinate!”

  • SHANEEL YOUNG

    Howard University

What's one piece of advice you would give a high school senior who's preparing to attend a college out of state?

“Well first, congratulations! You're making a bold stride toward your future and will learn so much from this exciting journey. One piece of advice that I would give is to remember who you are. College is a wonderful place to grow and evolve as a person, especially as an out-of-state student in a completely new environment, however, it is easy to fall in with the crowd and forget who you are as a person or why you decided to attend college in the first place. Stay grounded, create & maintain boundaries, and remember your purpose.”

  • LEAH FIKERMARIAM

    University of San Diego

How have you adjusted to life in college?

“College had some HIGH highs and some lows in the beginning, but eventually you find your flow and I’m grateful I found mine. I adore my friends, my campus, my teachers, and the city. It’s great. Be patient and everything fizzles down into place in the best way.”
